Every Dalit life is an unwritten but a moving book in this caste-bound Indian society. Soacial humiliation being meted out to Dalits for centuries need to be expressed by Dalits themselves in their natural terms. This way they can record their social trauma. It would serve as basis for Dalit reality. A lot of study has been undertaken at the university level for the holistic development of Dalit community. Personal narratives of the Dalit oppressed would encapsulate the real Dalit experience. In this backdrop, we would like to bring out an anthology on Dalit personal narratives both in English and Telugu languages.
Autobiographical narrators should invariably mention their caste/sub-caste in their contributions which are expected only from the castes listed under Scheduled Castes (S.Cs) in the Indian Constitution. No bar of age, gender or region for their writing.
Given this opportunity, all the interested Dalits/ Dalit writers, the terrible sufferers of social and economic oppression among other social inequalities, may write their own lived experiences in an essay form running from eight to twelve pages in a lucid and legible manner to reach the following addresses/Emails before March 31, 2008.
