Prof. Darla Venkateswara Rao was born on 5 September 1973 at Cheyyeru Agraharam in Katraenikona Mandal of the erstwhile East Godavari District.
He completed his undergraduate education up to B.A. Special Telugu at S.K.B.R. College, Amalapuram, in the Konaseema region. He secured First Rank in B.A. Special Telugu at the university level in 1995 and received several academic distinctions, including the Jayanti Ramayya Pantulu Memorial Prize, Veeresalingam–Rajyalakshmi Memorial Prize, and Nanduri Venkataramayya–Kutumbalakshmi Memorial Prize. Socio-Cultural Studies of Madigas in Telugu Literature
The project examined the socio-economic and cultural conditions of the Madiga community and their representation in Telugu literature.

ఆచార్య దార్ల వెంకటేశ్వరరావు యూనివర్సిటీ ఆఫ్ హైదరాబాద్, తెలుగు శాఖలో ప్రొఫెసర్ యూనివర్సిటీ ఆఫ్ హైదరాబాదు (సెంట్రల్ యూనివర్సిటి)లో ఎం.ఏ., తెలుగు (1997);ఎం.ఫిల్.,( 1998); పి హెచ్.డి., (2003) చేశారు. ఆచార్య ఎస్.శరత్ జ్యోత్స్నారాణి గారి పర్యవేక్షణలో జ్ఞానానందకవి ఆమ్రపాలి పరిశీలన పేరు చేసిన పరిశోధనకు ఎం.ఫిల్.; ''పరిశోధకుడుగా ఆరుద్ర ' పేరుతో చేసిన పరిశోధనకు పిహెచ్.డి., పట్టాలను అందుకున్నారు. నిజాం కళాశాల (ఉస్మానియా విశ్వవిద్యాలయం)లో సంస్కృతంలో డిప్లొమా (1997), తెలుగు లింగ్విస్టిక్స్ అండ్ లాంగ్వేజ్ టీచింగ్ లో పి.జి.డిప్లొమాని పొట్టి శ్రీరాములు తెలుగు విశ్వవిద్యాలయం (2000) లో చేశారు. వీటితో పాటు డా.బి.ఆర్.అంబేద్కర్ సార్వత్రిక విశ్వవిద్యాలయం (2005) లో ఎం.ఏ., (సోషియాలజీ) చేశారు.
దార్ల వెంకటేశ్వరరావుగారు ఉమ్మడి ఆంధ్రప్రదేశ్ రాష్ట్రంలోని తూర్పుగోదావరి జిల్లా, కాట్రేనికోన మండలం, చెయ్యేరు అగ్రహారంలో 05.09.1973 న శ్రీమతి పెదనాగమ్మ, శ్రీ దార్ల అబ్బాయి ( లంకయ్య) గార్లకు జన్మించిన మూడవ కుమారుడు. బి.ఏ. స్పెషల్ తెలుగు వరకు కోనసీమ బానోజీరామర్స్ కళాశాల (ఎస్.కె.బి.ఆర్.కళాశాల) అమలాపురంలో చదువుకున్నారు. డా.ద్వానాశాస్త్రి, డా.వాడవల్లి చక్రపాణిరావు, డా.కస్తూరి హనుమంతరావు, డా.పైడిపాల మొదలైనవారు ఆ కళాశాలలో పాఠాలు బోధించారు. సెంట్రల్ యూనివర్సిటిలో ఎం.ఏ.తెలుగులో చేరి, అక్కడే ఎం.ఫిల్, పిహెచ్.డి. పూర్తిచేశారు. ఆచార్యకె.కె.రంగనాథాచార్యులు, ఆచార్య జి.వి.సుబ్రహ్మణ్యం, ఆచార్య రవ్వాశ్రీహరి, ఆచార్య ముదిగొండ వీరభద్రయ్య, ఆచార్య పరిమి రామనరసింహం, ఆచార్య సి.ఆనందారామం వంటి గొప్ప సాహితీవేత్తల దగ్గర చదువుకున్నారు.
విద్యార్ధిగా మెరిట్ స్కాలర్ షిప్ఫుతో పాటు, యు.జి.సి., రీసెర్చ్ ఫెలోషిప్ని సాధించారు. పరిశోధన చేస్తుండగానే ప్రభుత్వ, డిగ్రీ కళాశాలల్లో పోటీ పరీక్ష ద్వారా ఏకకాలంలో (2001) అధ్యాపకుడుగా ఎంపికయ్యారు. ఆ తర్వాత 2004లో హైదరాబాదు సెంట్రల్ యూనివర్సిటీలో అసిస్టెంటు ప్రొఫెసరుగా చేరారు. ప్రస్తుతం అదే శాఖలో 2021 నుండి 2023 వరకు హెడ్ ఆఫ్ ది డిపార్ట్ముంటుగా పనిచేశారు. ప్రస్తుతం సీనియర్ ప్రొఫెసర్ తెలుగు శాఖలో కొనసాగుతున్నారు.
ఈయనకు సుమారు 25 సంవత్సరాల బోధనానుభవం ఉంది.సుమారు 26 పుస్తకాలను ప్రచురించారు. సుమారు 100కు పైగానే పరిశోధన పత్రాలు ప్రచురించారు. ఇంటర్నెట్ లో ఆయన పేరు సెర్చ్ చేస్తే అవన్నీ అందరికీ అందుబాటులో ఉన్నాయి. బహజన సాహిత్య దృక్పథం, వీచిక, పునర్మూల్యాంకనం, సృజనాత్మక నైపుణ్యాలు, సాహితీ సౌగంధి మొదలైనవి పరిశోధన, విమర్శ గ్రంథాల్లో ప్రసిద్దమైనవి. నెమలి కన్నులు, దార్ల మాటశతకం కవిత్వానికి సంబంధించినవి. ఈ కవిత్వం ఆంగ్లం, హిందీ భాషల్లో అనువాదం పొందింది. నెమలికన్నులు పేరుతోనే తన ఆటో బయోగ్రఫీ మొదటి భాగాన్ని కూడా 2023లో వెలువరించారు.
ఈయన పర్యవేక్షణలో 23మంది డాక్టరేట్, 22 మంది ఎం.ఫిల్ డిగ్రీలు పొందారు.ప్రస్తుతం తొమ్మిది మంది ఈయన పర్యవేక్షణలో డాక్టరేట్ పరిశోధన చేస్తున్నారు. ఈయన రచనలు ఎంతో మంది పరిశోధకులు ఆకారాలుగా ఉపయోగించుకుంటున్నారు. ఈయన డా.బి.ఆర్. అంబేద్కర్ ఓపెన్ యూనివర్సిటి వారికి బి.ఏ. ఎం.ఏ, తెలుగు పాఠాలు రాశారు. యూనివర్సిటీ ఆఫ్ హైదరాబాదు వారు దూరవిద్య ద్వారా బోధించే జర్నలిజం అండ్ మాస్ కమ్యూనికేషన్స్ కోర్సు పి.జి. డిప్లొమా విద్యార్థులకు రెండు పాఠాలను రాశారు.
ఈయన రచనలు వివిధ విశ్వవిద్యాలయాల్లో పాఠ్యాంశాలు గాను, ఆధార గ్రంథాలుగానూ ఉన్నాయి. ఈయన రాసిన రచనలపై వివిధ విశ్వవిద్యాలయాల్లో పరిశోధనలు జరిగాయి. మరికొన్ని విశ్వవిద్యాలయాల్లో పరిశోధనలు చేస్తున్నారు. యూనివర్సిటీ ఆఫ్ హైదరాబాద్ వారు బోధన, పరిశోధన, పాఠ్యాంశాల రూపకల్పనలో కనబర్చిన ప్రతిభకు గాను నలభై సంవత్సరాల లోపు అధ్యాపకులకు ప్రతియేడాదీ ఐదుగురికి ఛాన్సలర్ అవార్డుని సాధించారు. దీనికి గాను ఒక లక్షరూపాయలు పరిశోధన స్పెషల్ గ్రాంట్ పొందారు. యూనివర్సిటీ ఆఫ్ హైదరాబాద్, తెలుగు శాఖలో ఎం.ఏ విద్యార్ధులకు ‘‘పరిశోధన గ్రంథ రచన-నైపుణ్యాలు’’, ‘‘డయాస్పోరా సాహిత్యం’’, ‘‘సృజనాత్మక నైపుణ్యాలు’’ మొదలైన కొత్త పాఠ్యాంశాల రూపకల్పన చేశారు.

Prof.Darla
Venkateswara Rao born to Smt. Pedanagamma and Sri Lankayya (Abbai) couple in
Cheyyeru Agraharaham village in East Godavari district, Andhra Pradesh. He went
to school Konaseema in East Godavari
District. He completed his Intermediate and B. A. Special Telugu in Sri Banoji
Ramars College (SKBRC), Amalapuram in 1995.
Prof.Venkateswara
Rao, in continuation of his journey to higher studies, came to University of
Hyderabad in 1995, where he completed his M.A., M.Phil. and Ph.D. in the
Department of Telugu. He had been awarded M.Phil. for his research topic – Gnanandasavi Amrapaali Parisheelana - in
1998, and Ph.D. degree on the research topic – Parishodakudiga Aarudra – in 2003 under the supervision of Prof. S.
Sarat Jyothsna Rani. He had also completed Diploma in Sanskrit Language in 1997
from Nizam College (Osmania University), P.G. Diploma in Telugu Linguistic and
Language Teaching from Potti Sriramulu Telugu University in 2000. His desire to
acquire new stream of knowledge continued until he received M.A. Sociology from
Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Open University in 2005.
He
received Kalaprapurna Jayanthi Ramaiah
Panthulu Memorial Award and Kandukoori
Veereshalingam - Smt. Rajyalaxmi Memorial Award from Andhra University for
being first ranker in B.A. Special Telugu in 1995. He also achieved Nanduri Venkata Ramaiah, Kutumba Laxmi
Memorial Award for being the first ranker in B.A. Special Telugu from Sri
Konaseema BanojiRamars College.
As
a research scholar in the Dept. of Telugu in University of Hyderabad, he had also
received Merit Scholarship and U.G.C. Research Fellowship. While he had been pursuing
his research he got selected as Junior Lecturer through APPSC Competitive
Examinations and Selected as a Lecturer in the Govt-Aided College to teach in Vikarakabad,
SAP College. He thereafter had joined in the University of Hyderabad as
Assistant Professor in the Dept. of Telugu in 2004, where he has been now he
has a Professor in the same Department.
Since
student days Dr. Venkateswara Rao has a habit of writing poems and essays to different
Telugu daily newspapers. After he joined in the University of Hyderabad he contributed
as a Comparer (Know as Casual Announcer) in Akashavani
(All India Radia) in Hyderabad. Since he has been contributing poems and
literary lectures, plays, in Akashavani.
While he was pursuing his research as Ph.D. scholar, he had given coaching to the
Civil Service aspirants in Telugu subject and delivered many lectures in Akashavani and Doordarshan (Saptagiri)

Venkateswara Rao presented approximately 102 research papers in various
national seminars held at different Universities. He also published
approximately 56 research critics and papers in reputed national research
journals, special editions and newspapers such as ‘Vangmai’ of Pottisriramulu Telugu University, ‘Telugu Vaignanika Maasapathrika’ of Telugu Academy and ‘Dravidi’ of Dravida University and
others.
He also published 24 research books on poetry, criticism and research as of now. Mādiga caitan'yaṁ (1997), Sāhitī mūrtula praśasti (Ed. 1998), Jñānānandakavi āmrapāli pariśīlana (1999), Daḷita tāttvikuḍu (2004), Sr̥janātmaka racanalu cēyaḍaṁ elā? (2005), Sāhitī sulōcanaṁ (2006), Oka mādiga smr̥ti-nāgappagāri sundar rāju (2007), Vīcika- sāhitya vimarśa (2009), Punarmūlyāṅkanaṁ (2010), Bahujana sāhitya dr̥kpathaṁ (2012), Sāhitī mūrtulu-sphūrtalu (2015), Nemali kannulu (2016), Sāhitī sauganthi , Nemalikannulu (Auto biography (2023), and so on are some of the important books that has come up from his brilliant brain. There are three more books on the print yet to be released. His poetry would be translated into English and Kannada languages soon.

purashkar for his contribution to literature.
He
has been contributing to the literature in different capacities as Member of
Editorial Board for Bhahujana Kerataalu
and Vidya Masapathrika, Honorary
Editor for Madiga Samachara Lekha and
Advisor for Society and Education Trust, Hyderabad. He had also worked as

ఒక మరిచిపోలేని అనుభూతి... ఎంతో ఆత్మీయంగా నాపుస్తకాన్ని తీసుకొంటూ సంతకం చేసిమ్మన్నారు కళ్యాణరావుగారు (అంటరానివసంతం నవలారచయిత)
దళిత-ఆదివాసీ అధ్యయన మరియు అనువాద కేంద్రం, హైదరాబాద్ విశ్వవిద్యాలయం వారు ‘‘దళిత-బహుజన సాహిత్యం : చింతన – సమాలోచన’’(నాగప్పగారి సుందరరాజు, కేసరాజు కొమరన్న, కలేకూరి ప్రసాదు, పైడి తెరేష్ బాబుల దృక్కోణాలు-చర్చా గోష్టి) పేరుతో ఒక సాహితీ చర్చాగోష్టిని 26/02/2015 వ తేదీన హైదరాబాద్ విశ్వవిద్యాలయం స్కూల్ ఆఫ్ హ్యుమానిటీస్, ఆడిటోరియంలో నిర్వహించారు. మీటింగ్ ఎంతో గ్రాండ్ గా జరిగింది. నా పుస్తకాన్ని ఈ సమావేశంలో ఆవిష్కరించడం చాలా గౌరవంగా భావించాను.

భారతదేశ పునర్మిర్మాణంలో విధాన నిర్ణాయక కర్తగా, ఆ విధానాలను అమలు పర్చిన వాళ్ళలో ఒకరుగా పనిచేసిన డా. బాబూ జగజ్జీవన్ రామ్ గారి 107వ జయంతిని పురస్కరించుకొని ఆచార్య నాగార్జున విశ్వవిద్యాలయంలో 5 ఏప్రిల్ 2015 వతేదీన అధికారికంగా నిర్వహించిన సభావిశేషాలను కొన్నింటిని మీతో పెంచుకోవాలనుకుంటున్నాను. ఈ సభకు ఆచార్య నాగార్జున విశ్వవిద్యాలయం వైస్ ఛాన్సలర్ ఆచార్య కె. వియన్నారావుగారు అధ్యక్షత వహించి డా. బాబూ జగజ్జీవన్ రామ్ స్వాతంత్ర్యానికి ముందూ తర్వాత అనేక పదవుల్లో పని చేసి దేశ పునర్మిర్మాణానికి కృషిచేశారని కొనియాడారు. సభలో యూనివర్సిటీ రెక్టార్ ఆచార్య కె.ఆర్.ఎస్. సాంబశివరావు మాట్లాడుతూ చిన్ననాటి నుండే డా.బాబూ జగజ్జీవన్ రామ్ క్రమశిక్షణకు మారుపేరనీ, దళితుల ఆత్మగౌరవాన్ని భంగపరిచే పనుల్ని సహించలేకపోయేవారని వ్యాఖ్యానించారు. యూనివర్సిటీ రిజిస్ట్రార్ ఆచార్య రాజశేఖర్ పట్టేటి మాట్లాడుతూ అనేక బాబూ జగజ్జీవన్ రామ్ శాఖల్లో మంత్రి పదవి నిర్వహించారనీ, తాను చేపట్టిన ప్రతి శాఖను అంకితభావంలో పటిష్టపరిచారని అన్నారు. ఎన్.ఎస్.ఎస్. కోఆర్డినేటర్ డా.కె.మధుబాబు మాట్గాలాడుతూ డా. అంబేద్కర్ కి అనేక సందర్భాల్లోబాబూ జగజ్జీవన్ రామ్ సహకరించారని గుర్తుచేశారు. సభలో పాల్గొన్న డా. ఉదయ్ కుమార్ డా.జగజ్జీవన్ రామ్ పనులను వివరించి వాటి వల్ల దేశానికీ, దళితులకీ ఎంతో ప్రయోజనం చేకూరిందని అన్నారు.
సభలో ప్రధాన వక్తగా నన్ను ఆహ్వానించారు. వ్యవస్థలో అంతర్భాగంగా ఉంటూ,వ్యవస్థీకృతంగా పోరాడుతూ దేశానికీ, అందులో భాగమైన పీడిత, దళిత వర్గం,కులాల వారి రక్షణకు, శ్రేయస్సుకి డా. బాబూ జగజ్జీవన్ రామ్ పాటుపడిన సంఘటనలకు సోదాహరణంగా వివరించే ప్రయత్నం చేశాను.

(తెలుగు వెలుగు కార్యక్రమంలో నా తో జరిపిన సంభాషణను ది15 నవంబరు 2015 తేది నాడు ఆంధ్రప్రదేశ్ ఈటివి ఛానల్ లో 11. 30 గంటలకు ప్రసారం చేశారు. ఆ విశేషాలను మా విద్యార్థి బడిగె ఉమేశ్ కొంతవరకు లిఖితరూపంలోకి మార్చే ప్రయత్నం చేశాడు. దాన్ని పాఠకుల సౌకర్యార్థం అందిస్తున్నాను. దార్ల )
ప్రజల భాషకు పట్టం కట్టినప్పుడే ప్రజాస్వామ్యం వర్థిల్లుతుంది. ఈ దృష్టితోనే ఆంధ్రప్రదేశ్ లో అన్ని రంగాల్లోను తెలుగుకు పెద్దపీట వేయాలని భావిస్తోంది. సరైన భాషా విధానాన్ని రూపకల్పన చేసుకుని ఆ దిశగా అడుగులు వేయాలని ఆలోచిస్తోంది. కొత్త రాష్ర్టంలో మాతృభాషకు ఎలాంటి ప్రాధాన్యతనివ్వాలో ఓ సాహిత్య వేత్త మాటల్లో విందాం.

మీరు కవి, విమర్శకులు, ఎన్నో విలువైన పుస్తకాలు ప్రచురించారు. మీ సాహిత్య ప్రస్థానాన్ని మా ప్రేక్షకులకు వివరిస్తారా?
దార్ల వెంకటేశ్వరరావు : తూర్పుగోదావరి జిల్లా కోనసీమలోని మారుమూల ఒక గ్రామం చేయ్యేరు అగ్రహారంలో నేను జన్మించాను. మా కుటుంబంలో తొలి తరం విద్యావంతుడిని నేను. అలా గురువుల ప్రోత్సాహంతో హైదరాబాదు సెంట్రల్ యూనివర్సిటీలో ఎం. ఏ, చదివి, ఇక్కడే ఎం. ఫిల్, చేసి, ఇక్కడే పిహెచ్.డి. చేసి, ఇక్కడే అసిస్టెంట్ ప్రొఫెసరుగా ఉద్యోగంలో చేరాను. ప్రస్తుతం అసోసియేట్ ప్రొఫెసర్ గా ఉన్నాను. నా జీవితంలో ఎదురైన అనేక సంఘటనలను నేను కవిత్వంగా రాశాను. దాన్ని సాధారణీకరించి కవిత్వంగా రాశాను. మా జీవితానికి సంబంధించినటువంటి వస్తువునే కవిత్వ వస్తువుగా మార్చుకున్నాను. నా సాహిత్య వస్తువులో సమకాలీన సమాజం అనిపిస్తుంది. తర్వాత ‘వీచిక’ అనే విమర్శ ఒక విమర్శ గ్రంథాన్ని రాశాను. ‘బహుజన సాహిత్య దృక్పథం’, ‘పునర్మూల్యాంకనం’, ‘సాహితీ మూర్తులు స్ఫూర్తులు’ మొదలైన పదమూడు విమర్శ పుస్తకాలను రాశాను.
ముఖ్యంగా ఆరుద్ర మీదా పిహెచ్. డి. పరిశోధన చేశాను. యస్. టి జ్ఞానా నంద కవి గారి ‘‘ఆమ్రపాలి’’ మీదా పరిశోధన చేశాను. ఈ ‘‘ఆమ్రపాలి’’ సాహిత్య అకాడమీ అవార్డు పొందిన గ్రంథం. అందుచేత నాకు సాహిత్యం పట్ల అభిమానం ఏర్పడడానికి గురువులు ఎంతో కారణం.
2. ఈటీవీ : మీరు దళిత కవిత్వంలోని సౌందర్యం గురించి పుస్తకం రాశారు. మరి దళిత కవిత్వం భాష విషయంలో తీసుకొచ్చిన కొత్త మార్పులు ఏమిటి ?
దార్ల వెంకటేశ్వరరావు : మన తెలుగు సాహిత్యాన్ని పరిశీలించినట్లైతే, మనం ఒక ప్రధానమైనటువంటి వర్గానికి సంబంధించినటువంటి భాషని పాఠ్య గ్రంథాల్లో చూశాం. కవిత్వంలో చూశాం. పరిశోధనలో చూశాం. విమర్శలో చూశాం. అటువంటి భాషలో దళిత సాహిత్యం ఒక మౌలికమైనటువంటి మార్పుని తీసుకొచ్చింది. అది భాషాభివృద్ధికి తోడ్పడింది. దళిత కవులు మూడు తరాలుగా భాషని మనకు అభివృద్ధి పథంలో నడిపించారు. తొలితరం దళితులు పద్య కవిత్వాన్ని రాసి, దాన్లో విజ్ఞాపన పద్ధతిలో రాశారు. కాబట్టి అక్కడ పెద్దగా మార్పేమి కనిపించదు. రెండో తరం వచ్చేసరికి దళిత కవుల్లో ఒక ఆవేశం కట్టలు తెంచుకొని ప్రవహించింది. ఆ ఆవేశంలో వచ్చినటువంటి మార్పు ఆ దశలో మనం గుర్తించ గలుగుతాం. మూడో తరంలో దళిత కవిత్వం వ్యవస్థీకృతమైంది. నిజమైనటువంటి సౌందర్యం ప్రతీకల్తోటి, భావచిత్రాలతోటి తమ పలుకుబడులతో ప్రధాన జీవన స్రవంతిలో ఉన్నటువంటి భాషకి ఏమాత్రం తీసుకోకుండా కొత్త కొత్త పదజాలాన్నీ దళిత సాహిత్యంలో తీసుకొచ్చి భాషాభివృద్ధికి దళిత కవులు ఎంతగానో తోడ్పడ్డారు.
3. ఈటీవీ : మీరు కేంద్రీయ విశ్వవిద్యాలయంలో అధ్యాపకులుగా పనిచేస్తున్నారు. తెలుగు భాషాభివృద్ధిలో విశ్వవిద్యాలయాల పాత్ర నేడు ఎలా ఉందంటారు?
దార్ల వెంకటేశ్వరరావు : నేను హైదరాబాదు కేంద్రీయ విశ్వవిద్యాలయంలో చేరిన తర్వాత చూసినట్లైతే కనుక, ఇక్కడ పాఠ్య ప్రణాళికల్లో కొంత స్వేచ్ఛ ఉంటుంది- ఇతర విశ్వవిద్యాలయాలతో పోల్చినప్పుడు. ఆ విధంగా ఇక్కడ ఈ విశ్వవిద్యాలయంలో చాలా వరకు భాషాభివృద్ధికి కావాల్సినటువంటి కేవలం పద్య కవిత్వమే కాకుండా, వచన కవిత్వాన్ని, వచన రచనల్ని పాఠ్యాంశాల్లో పెట్టడం వలన మనం భాషాభివృద్ధికి దోహద పడే అంశాల్ని పాఠ్యాంశాలుగా చేరుస్తున్నాం. ఒకప్పుడు కేవలం పద్య కవిత్వంలో మాత్రమే, పద్యాన్నీ మాత్రమే ప్రధానంగా చేసి పాఠ్యాంశాలుండే ఈ క్రమాన్ని సార్వత్రిక విశ్వవిద్యాలయం పాఠ్య ప్రణాలికల్లో వచన రచనలతో పరిపుష్టం చేసింది. తర్వాత జానపద సాహిత్యాన్ని మిగతా విశ్వవిద్యాలయాలు పెట్టినప్పటికీ కూడా, మనకు వచన రచనల్ని పాఠ్యాంశాల్ని చేర్చడం ద్వారా భాషాభివృద్ధి ఎక్కువగా జరుగుతుంది. ఈ విషయంలో మనం కాకతీయ విశ్వవిద్యాలయంలో, యోగి వేమన విశ్వవిద్యాలయం వారి పాఠ్యప్రణాలికలు చాలా బాగున్నాయి. వారు కథలకీ, నవలకీ, ప్రాంతీయ సాహిత్యానికీ చాలా ప్రాధాన్యతను ఇస్తున్నారు. మనం ఎప్పుడు కూడా ప్రాంతీయ సాహిత్యం నుండి జీవనాన్ని ఎప్పుడైతే చూశామో అప్పుడు భాషాభివృద్ధి చాలా విస్త్రృతంగా జరుగుతుంది. ఆ విధంగా విశ్వవిద్యాలయాల పాత్ర నిత్య నూతను కోణంలో పాఠ్యప్రణాలికలను రూపొందించుకోవాల్సిన అవసరం ఉంది.
4. ఈటీవీ : మాతృభాషలోనే ప్రాథమిక విద్యాభ్యాసం ఉండాలని భాషాశాస్త్రవేత్తలు మేధావులు చెప్తున్నారు. కానీ ప్రాథమిక స్థాయినుంచే ఆంగ్ల విద్యావిధానం విస్తరిస్తున్న నేటి రోజుల్లో తెలుగు భాషను ఎలా కాపాడుకోవాలంటారు?
దార్ల వెంకటేశ్వరరావు : మనకున్నటువంటిది త్రిభాషాసూత్రం. ఈ త్రిభాషావిధానంలో మాతృభాష, దాంతో పాటు హిందీ, ఆంగ్లం అనేవి కొన్ని తరగతులు వచ్చిన తర్వాత మొదలవుతాయి. కానీ... ప్రస్తుత తరుణంలో ప్రాథమిక స్థాయినుండే ఆంగ్లాన్నీ బలవంతంగా మన మీద రుద్దుతున్నటువంటి విద్యావ్యవస్థ ఇప్పుడిప్పుడే బలంగా మన విద్యాలయాల్లో ప్రవేశిస్తుంది. ప్రతి పౌరుడూ స్థానిక సమస్యలకంటే కూడా ప్రపంచ పౌరుడిగా మారాలని అని ఆలోచిస్తున్నట్టుగా బయటికి కనిపిస్తుంది. కానీ అది స్థానికమైనటువంటి అంశాల్ని, స్థానిక సంస్కృతిని, స్థానిక ప్రజల యొక్క సమస్యల్నీ అవగాహన చేసుకోకుండా అది నిర్వీర్యం చేస్తుంది. అందుచేత మనం చిన్ననాటి నుండే చిన్నచిన్న పద్యాలు, చిన్న చిన్న శతకపద్యాలు, చిన్న చిన్న పొడుపు కథలు, సామెతలు, కథలు ఇటువంటివన్నీ కూడా పిల్లలకు నేర్పడం ద్వారా మనం భాషని కాపాడుకోవచ్చు. దాంతో మాతృభాషను ప్రాథమిక స్థాయిలో అక్కడ ఉన్నా, లేకపోయినా తెలుగు భాషను నేర్పవచ్చు; దాని ద్వారా తెలుగు సాహిత్యాన్నీ కాపాడుకోవచ్చు.
ఈటీవీ : యువతలో ‘ఆంగ్లాన్ని చదువుకుంటేనే ఉద్యోగాలు వస్తాయి’ అన్న భావన ఉంది. మరి తెలుగు భాషపై యువతలో అభిమానం కలిగించడానికి ఏమి చేయాలంటారు?
దార్ల వెంకటేశ్వరరావు: యువతీ యువకులకు భాష పట్ల అభిమానం పెరగాలంటే ఆర్ధిక ప్రయోజనాలు కూడా భాషతో ముడిపడి ఉండాలి. ‘మనం చదువుకున్నటువంటి భాషవలన మనకి ఉపాధి లభిస్తుంది’ అనే భరోసా యువతలో కలగాలి. అది కలిగించడానికి ప్రభుత్వం కొన్ని చర్యలు తీసుకోవాలి. ఒక రాష్ర్టంలో ప్రధానమైనటువంటి భాష తెలుగైనప్పుడు, ఆ రాష్ట్రంలో, ఆ జిల్లాలో, ఆ మండలాల్లో వివిధ విషయాల గురించి తెలుగులోనే ఉత్తర ప్రత్యుత్తరాలు జరపలేని వ్యవస్థని మనం కలిగి ఉన్నప్పుడు, మనం తెలుగు చదువుకుంటే ఏమోస్తుందనే భయం సహజంగానే కలుగుతుంది. అందుకే ఈ భయాన్ని పోగొట్టాలంటే కొన్ని నిర్ణయాలు తీసుకోవాలి. (ఎడిటింగ్ అయిన విషయాలు... సామాన్య ప్రజలకు కూడా జీవోలను, న్యాయస్థానాల్లో తీర్పులను, పోలీసు స్టేషనులో ప్రాథమిక సమాచార నివేదిక (ఎఫ్.ఐ.ఆర్)లను తెలుగులోనే అందించే ప్రయత్నం చేయాలి. ముఖ్యంగా సచివాలయంలో తెలుగులోనే ప్రజల సమస్యల గురించి చర్చించాలి. వాటికి తెలుగులోనే ఉత్తర్వ్యులివ్వాలి. తెలుగు భాష పేరుతో కృత్రికమమైన అనువాదాల్ని ఇవ్వకుండా, ప్రజల భాషలో ఉత్తర్వులు వచ్చేలా చూడాలి. అన్యభాషా పదాలను తొలిదశలో అవసరమైనంత మేరకు స్వీకరించినా తప్పులేదు.) శాస్త్ర సాంకేతిక రంగాల్లో కూడా మనం తెలుగును బోధించే ఒక విషయాన్ని కంపల్సరీ చేస్తే బాగుంటుంది. అప్పుడు ఉపాధి అవకాశాలు పెరుగుతాయి. ఎప్పుడైతే ఉపాధి అవకాశాలు పెరిగాయో అప్పుడు విద్యార్థులు తెలుగు చదువుకోవడాకి ముందుకు వస్తారు.
ఈటీవీ : ప్రపంచీకరణ విస్తరిస్తున్న నేటి తరుణంలో స్థానిక భాషలు, సంస్కృతులు పరిరక్షణలో ప్రజలు, ప్రభుత్వాలు బాధ్యత ఎంతవరకు ఉందంటారు. ?
దార్ల వెంకటేశ్వరరావు: తెలుగు భాష బ్రతకడం అనేది తెలుగు జీవన విధానం బతకడం. తెలుగు జీవన విధానం బ్రతకడం అంటే తెలుగు సంస్కృతిని మనం పరిరక్షించుకోవటం. ఒకప్పుడు కేవలం కొన్నివర్గాల వారి భాష నిఘంటువుల ఎక్కింది. ఇప్పుడు అన్ని వృత్తుల వారి భాష కూడా నిఘంటువులోనికి రావాల్సిన అవసరం ఉంది. ఎప్పుడైతే అన్ని వృత్తులు యొక్క భాషా పదజాలాన్నీ మనం సేకరించామో అప్పుడు భాష సంపద్వంతమైతుంది. ‘మన తెలుగు భాష ఇంత గొప్పదా’ అనేది మనకు తెలుస్తుంది. తర్వాత వ్యవహారకోశాలను తయారు చేయాలి. ఇప్పుడు పలుకుబడులు, జాతీయాలు ఉన్నాయి. ఏ పలుకుబడులు ఏ సందర్భంలో వాడతారు. ఏ సందర్భంతో మన కావ్యాల్లో ప్రయోగించారు. ఏ సందర్భాల్లో కథల్లో ప్రయోగించారు. ఏ సందర్భంలో కవితల్లో ప్రయోగించారు.... నవలల్లో ప్రయోగించారు.. అనే వాటికి సోదాహరణంగా మనం వ్యవహారకోశాల్ని తయారు చేయాలి. అప్పుడు స్థానిక భాష యొక్క సంస్కృతి ప్రపంచానికి తెలుస్తుంది. ప్రపంచీకరణలో ఉన్న ఒక లక్షణం ఏమిటంటే స్థానికంగా జరిగిన ఒక చిన్న విషయాన్ని ప్రపంచానికి వెంటనే, వేగవంతంగా ప్రపంచానికి తెలిసిపోతుంది. ఉదాహరణకి మనకు కంప్యూటర్ వాడుకలోకి వచ్చింది. దానిలో తెలుగు భాషను వాడుకోగలుగుతున్నాం. అలాగే అంతర్జాలం వాడుకలోకి వచ్చింది. సోషల్ మీడియాకి దాన్ని విస్తృతంగా ఉపయోగించుకోగలగాలి. వీటి ద్వారా సెకెన్స్ లో, నిమిషాల్లో ప్రపంచానికి మనం మన భాషనీ, మన కళల్నీ మనం ప్రపంచానికి తెలియజేస్తున్నాం. అదేవిధంగా స్మార్ట్ ఫోన్స్ వచ్చాయి. వీటి ద్వారా కూడా మనం భాషనీ, సంస్కృతినీ, మన జీవన విధానాన్ని అంతటినీ వేగవంతంగా మన తెలుగు భాషలోనే తెలియజేయవచ్చు. ఆ విధంగా స్థానికతను విశ్వజనీనత వైపు తీసుకెళ్లే ప్రయత్నం చేయవచ్చు. అలా చేసినప్పుడు ప్రపంచీకరణ పరిస్థితులు ఏర్పడినప్పటికీ కూడా మన స్థానిక భాషలకేమీ నష్టం పెద్దగా వాటిల్లదు.

प्रोफेसर दार्ला वेंकटेश्वर राव हैदराबाद विश्वविद्यालय के तेलुगु विभाग में प्रोफेसर एवं अध्यक्ष के रूप में कार्यरत हैं। उन्होंने हैदराबाद विश्वविद्यालय (सेंट्रल यूनिवर्सिटी) से एम.ए. तेलुगु (1997), एम.फिल. (1998), और पीएच.डी. (2003) पूरी की। प्रो. एस. शरथ ज्योत्स्नारानी के निर्देशन में उन्होंने ज्ञानानंदकवि की आम्रपाली: एक अध्ययन विषय पर एम.फिल. और शोधकर्ता के रूप में आरुद्र विषय पर पीएच.डी. की उपाधि प्राप्त की। उन्होंने निज़ाम कॉलेज (उस्मानिया विश्वविद्यालय) से संस्कृत में डिप्लोमा (1997) और पोट्टी श्रीरामुलु तेलुगु विश्वविद्यालय से तेलुगु भाषाविज्ञान और भाषा शिक्षण में पी.जी. डिप्लोमा (2000) किया। इसके साथ ही, उन्होंने डॉ. बी.आर. अंबेडकर ओपन यूनिवर्सिटी से समाजशास्त्र में एम.ए. उनके मार्गदर्शन में 19 छात्रों ने पीएच.डी. और 22 छात्रों ने एम.फिल. की उपाधि प्राप्त की है। वर्तमान में, 10 छात्र उनके निर्देशन में पीएच.डी. कर रहे हैं। उनके कार्य विभिन्न विश्वविद्यालयों में पाठ्यक्रम और संदर्भ ग्रंथों के रूप में शामिल किए गए हैं।
डॉ. बी.आर. अंबेडकर ओपन यूनिवर्सिटी के बी.ए. और एम.ए. पाठ्यक्रम के लिए उन्होंने पाठ तैयार किए हैं और हैदराबाद विश्वविद्यालय के दूरस्थ शिक्षा पाठ्यक्रम के पत्रकारिता और जनसंचार पीजी डिप्लोमा के लिए दो पाठ लिखे हैं।
उन्होंने तेलुगु विभाग में अनुसंधान पद्धति, दलित साहित्य, प्रवासी साहित्य और सृजनात्मक कौशल जैसे नए पाठ्यक्रमों का विकास किया है। उन्होंने मादिगा समुदाय के इतिहास, संस्कृति और साहित्य पर यूजीसी का एक प्रमुख शोध परियोजना भी पूरी की है।
प्रो. दार्ला को पोट्टी श्रीरामुलु तेलुगु विश्वविद्यालय का कीर्ति पुरस्कार, डॉ. बी.आर. अंबेडकर पुरस्कार, और महाकवि गुर्राजाडा राष्ट्रीय पुरस्कार सहित कई पुरस्कार मिले हैं। वे केंद्रीय साहित्य अकादमी पुरस्कार (2023) की चयन समिति के सदस्य भी रहे हैं और यूजीसी-केयर जर्नल औचित्यम तथा अमेरिका से प्रकाशित प्रकाशा त्रैमासिक पत्रिका के संपादक मंडल के सदस्य हैं।
वे मद्रास विश्वविद्यालय, पांडिचेरी विश्वविद्यालय (यानम), कृष्णा विश्वविद्यालय, उस्मानिया विश्वविद्यालय, और बनारस हिंदू विश्वविद्यालय के तेलुगु विभाग के अध्ययन बोर्ड के सदस्य भी हैं।

Prof. Darla Venkateswara Rao serves as the Professor and Head of the Department of Telugu at the University of Hyderabad. He pursued his M.A. in Telugu (1997), M.Phil. (1998), and Ph.D. (2003) from the University of Hyderabad (Central University). Under the supervision of Prof. S. Sharath Jyotsnarani, he completed his M.Phil. thesis on Jnananandakavi’s Amrapali: A Study and his Ph.D. on Arudra as a Researcher. Additionally, he obtained a Diploma in Sanskrit (1997) from Nizam College (Osmania University) and a Postgraduate Diploma in Telugu Linguistics and Language Teaching (2000) from Potti Sreeramulu Telugu University. He also earned an M.A. in Sociology (2005) from Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Open University.
As a student, he received a merit scholarship along with a UGC Research Fellowship. In 2001, he was simultaneously selected as a lecturer for Government Degree Colleges through competitive exams. Later, in 2004, he joined the University of Hyderabad as an Assistant Professor, where he has been serving as a Professor since 2016. He also serves as Deputy Dean at the university.
With over 25 years of teaching experience, Prof. Darla has authored approximately 26 books and published 56 research papers, all of which are accessible online. Notable among his works are Bahujana Sahitya Drukpatham, Dalit Sahityam-Madiga Drukpatham, Veechika, Punarmulyankanam, Srujanatmaka Naipunyalalu, Sahiti Sougandhi (research and critique), and Nemali Kannulu and Darla Mata Shatakam (poetry). His poetry has been translated into English and Hindi. He also published the first part of his autobiography under the title Nemali Kannulu.
Under his guidance, 23 students have earned Ph.D. degrees, and 22 have completed their M.Phil. Currently, 10 students are pursuing Ph.D. degrees under his supervision. His works are extensively referenced by researchers and form part of the curriculum and foundational texts in various universities.
He has contributed lessons to Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Open University’s B.A. and M.A. programs and authored two lessons for the PG Diploma course in Journalism and Mass Communication offered by the University of Hyderabad through distance education.
His research contributions include pioneering new syllabi in the Department of Telugu, focusing on Research Methodology, Dalit Literature, Diaspora Literature, and Creative Writing Skills. He also completed a UGC Major Research Project on the history, culture, and literature of the Madiga community.
Prof. Darla has received several accolades, including the Keerthi Puraskar from Potti Sreeramulu Telugu University, the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Award, and the Mahakavi Gurajada National Award. He served as a jury member for the Central Sahitya Akademi Awards (2023) and is an editorial board member of the UGC-CARE journal Aucityam, the Prakashika Quarterly Journal published from the USA. and Dravidi, a peer-review journal, published by Dravidian University, Kuppam., A.P. India
Additionally, he has been part of the Board of Studies for Telugu departments at institutions such as Bangalore University, Madras University, Pondicherry University (Yanam), Krishna University, Osmania University, and Banaras Hindu University etc.
